CHAIRS is the Christian Authors, Illustrators, and Readers Society. Our group is comprised of beginning, experienced, and published authors and illustrators as well as all those who love to read.

We’ve been meeting in southern California, in some form or another, for the past 15 years as the Chino Valley Christian Writers Critique Group, led by author Nancy I. Sanders. In the fall of 2008, we revamped our group to be a society to include illustrators as well as anyone interested in the world of publishing, books, and magazines.

Our purpose is to encourage and equip writers and illustrators to best meet our personal goals as we work to improve our skills. We welcome all to come who are involved with or love the world of books and magazines, even if you do not yet write or illustrate. If you’re a bookseller, a publisher, a freelance editor, an agent–or if you’re involved with the publishing industry in any way, we’d love to have you join CHAIRS. Or, if you’ve always wanted to write or illustrate, but have never known where to start or how to pursue your dreams, please come join CHAIRS! It’s a great place to network and grow.
